Alyeska Aerial Tram

A 3 to 7 minute scenic ride from The Hotel Alyeska to the top of Mt. Alyeska. You can see miles in all directions. Don’t forget to look down! In the summer months, moose and bear sightings are common.

Portage Glacier Cruise

One of Alaska’s most popular attractions. Visit the sheer, awesome face of a mighty Alaska glacier located just an hour from Anchorage.

Hiking Trails

There are several hiking trails in the area. All listed trails are managed and non-motorized use only; mileage is one way. Trails shown on the map that are not listed here may be indistinct and hard to find. Be alert as you hike and bike–bears and moose love our valley too!

Bird Creek Campground

Just south of Anchorage, the campground offers experiences like fishing, hiking, whale watching, wildlife viewing and spectacular sunsets. These wooded sites have fire rings, picnic tables and water. Hosts on site seasonally.
